POST 8: ENGLISH LANGUAGE CHALLENGES

The subject of English in the university has seemed to me a very important tool for the future of the students, it is super practical, it gives many material of studies, the professors are very open and available to any doubt or urgency of the students. Using the blog has helped me a lot to improve my writing and also to learn new words. You can always improve on everything you do, but within what I have to improve is to speak and express myself fluently, also understand a little more when I hear someone speaking English. For that I feel that YouTube videos help a lot with phrases and how to pronounce in a better way, besides listening to music in English and watching series in this same language. In general I use English to watch series and get to understand them without subtitles, is one of my closest goals and also the use of English to understand dance classes on the Internet that often does not have subtitles and one is related more to the language and language used in th...

POST 7: CHANGES TO YOUR STUDY PROGRAM

Imagen
Since I started studying dance I have had very interesting courses that contribute a lot to the formation of both dancer and scenic artist. In fact, I entered to study at the University of Chile because of the curriculum it offered and that called me much attention to their branches. But I feel that there are some branches such as modern technique and ballet that should be done until the last year of the career and that contribute a lot to the formation of the dancer's technique. I also think that the six-year course could be shortened to five years, in order to leave as early as possible, since the dancer's career is quite short. It would be good to make an interdisciplinary exchange between the artistic careers, encouraging projects so that they can strengthen each other. Another thing in the curriculum I would like that at least once a year foreign teachers come and show us their teaching methods and experiences. Also, I would like to add more assistantships in all are...

POST 6: TIME TRAVEL TO THE FUTURE

Imagen
The truth is that I do not have so many expectations for the future, I feel that every day as humanity we are destroying our planet and social relations. But if I had to choose a moment in a dreamy way it would be that people work less hours and can enjoy their families, that we have more environmental awareness and that there are policies that promote and protect green areas, water and animals. It would also be ideal if people stopped eating animals as part of their diet, if bicycles were the main means of transportation and if it were fashionable to be respectful, generous and non-judgmental people. Finally I would like to stay in this dreamy place, but I also believe that the process of creating this utopian society is beautiful and for me it has much more value how to work on it than to reach the "goal" without having done anything.

POST 5: MY FUTURE JOB

Imagen
Since I started studying at the university, I have dreamed of teaching and transmitting experiences to others, but I would also like to do research and creative work related to choreography. What is needed in teaching dance is outside of an office, rather I imagine myself in a rehearsal room, academies or that style of places, I would love to travel a lot within the country, especially in regions and more distant places that do not have access to  arts in general, since most people must go to the capital, Santiago, to be able to have those experiences. Among the specialties that my career has is teaching and being a choreographer, personally I would take both, I feel that they contribute a lot to one's background, but they can not be taken at the same time, so first I would like to take the teaching specialty and then the other one . Also, one of my dream jobs would be to participate in a company abroad being an interpreter and absorbing as much experiences as possible t...

POST 4: A PERSON I WOULD LIKE TO MEET

Imagen
One of the people I would like to meet is Ohad Naharin, he is from Israeli, he is considered one of the most famous choreographers in the world, he has been in the dance world for more than 40 years.  H e began his career at the age of 22 studying at Julliard and the American National Ballet School. In 1990 Naharin created his own technique, which he called gaga, the main objective is that his dancers feel within themselves every part of their body and every detail of the movement. In addition to creating his own language and creating different choreographic pieces that have had an impact on the world of dance, his career has also included   o ne of his most important initiatives which was to find a company with its own professional identity whose aim is to train new generations of performers, both Israeli and foreign, and to cultivate original talents in the fields of music, design and choreography. The reason why I admire his work is the fact of transforming danc...

POST 3: A DAY TO REMEMBER

Imagen
One of the days I remember the most was when I was able to study dance at the university, it was a very intense week, so I remember it very well. To enter dance you must take a special test, which lasts four days and is passed in stages. The first day I was very nervous, but once I arrived and was in the rehearsal room, I calmed down little by little. The second day I was already more sure of myself and with the choreographies that had to be done and that same day gave the results to move to the next stage to which I passed. The third day I remember that I had to dance in front of all the teachers, when it was my turn and I was dancing in the room, the music stopped, the radio was with problems, so I had to start all over again, The last day and the one I remember most happily, I arrived early and we were all the applicants in a room for the final interview, I stayed with some girls I met those days waiting to be called. Everything went well and I felt very comfortable in...

POST 2 : MY LAST CONCERT

Imagen
I enjoy music very much and especially if it is live, that is why I love concerts and I have been to several of them. I remember perfectly the last concert I went to, because I had a great time and I really enjoyed that day. September 2019 was my last concert before the pandemic, I went to see Bad Bunny with my friends. We bought tickets quickly before they were sold out and were in an area very close to the stage. I remember we danced a lot and sang all the songs. He is a Puerto Rican singer of trap and reggaeton, his stage name "Bad Bunny" is due to a childhood photo in which he is dressed as a rabbit where he looked like he was not very happy, the photo was shared on social networks and when he became famous he decided to leave that name behind. I like him because he is a very creative and versatile artist, he collaborates with different singers and one of the albums I like the most is called "x siempre". I have very good memories of that day and I ho...
